معرفی
Elisabeth Arruda serves as a Part Time Lecturer in the Women's & Gender Studies department at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. She teaches courses across the College of Arts & Sciences framework with a focus on gender, social justice, and women's experiences.
Her research and teaching interests center on intersectional feminist approaches to understanding women's lives. Dr. Arruda specializes in examining how gender interacts with race, class, sexual orientation, and ethnicity within systems of power and oppression. Her work explores colonialism, racism, sexism, and ethnocentrism as interlocking frameworks that shape women's experiences globally and historically.
In her courses including WGS 101: Introduction to Women's & Gender Studies and WGS 203: Intersectional Feminism, she emphasizes critical analysis of how women have resisted various forms of oppression throughout history. Her teaching approach fosters critical thinking about contemporary feminist movements that address multiple intersecting identities beyond traditional gender equality frameworks.
