Dr. Elisa Tamburo is a Researcher in Social Anthropology at the Department of Theology and Religious Studies, King's College London. She is affiliated with the ERC-funded project 'Cosmological Visionaries,' investigating Nuosu animistic perspectives on climate change in Sichuan, China. Her research focuses on urban and environmental anthropology in Greater China, exploring displacement, resettlement, political economy of planning, and the interplay of time, futurity, and ritual in shaping communities.
Her PhD dissertation on urban displacement in Taiwan's military villages was awarded prestigious fellowships. She holds a PhD from SOAS, University of London, and has published in journals like Focaal and Journal of Current Chinese Affairs.
