Elisa González-Romero is a full-time professor at the Universidade de Vigo, Spain, affiliated with the Faculty of Chemistry and the Department of Analytical and Food Chemistry. With a PhD from the Autonomous University of Madrid (1989), her work spans electrochemical analysis, kinetics, and environmental chemistry applications.
- Education: Doctorate (1989) in electrochemical studies of tifluadom and metaclazepam
Her research focuses on electrochemistry, nanotechnology, and mechanistic studies of arenediazonium reactions. She pioneered heat-treated screen-printed carbon electrodes for polyphenol sensing and developed methods for electro-Fenton degradation monitoring of dyes and phenolic derivatives. Her work integrates surfactant solutions, cyclodextrins, and modified electrodes for enhanced electrocatalysis.
Recent publications highlight voltammetric techniques for environmental analysis (dyes, peroxides) and food chemistry applications (vitamin C in juices). Collaborative efforts include studies on micellar systems, reverse micelles, and biosensor development. Though no explicit awards are listed, her 1,228 public views on Academia.edu reflect academic impact.
Elisa mentors postgraduate students in EEES context and has co-authored 15+ works since 1990. Her methods span differential pulse voltammetry, fluorescence quenching, and electrochemical pretreatment of biosensors.
