Elinor Light is a Senior Instructor and Assistant Dean for Student Success at the College of Liberal Arts, Colorado State University. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Utah and an M.A. from Colorado State University. Her research focuses on visual rhetoric, aesthetics, and space within social justice contexts. She teaches visual communication and has extensive experience in online education since 2013. She also directs the Communication Department’s Online Degree Program and represents Continuing, Contract, and Adjunct Faculty in the Dean’s Office.
Her research interests emphasize visual communication’s role in social and cultural contexts, including graffiti analysis, digital media, and public memorials. She has been recognized with the 2018 National Communication Association’s Most Outstanding Article of the Year Award for her work on visual communication and urban spaces.
