Elinah Russell is an Adjunct Faculty member at Naropa University, teaching courses in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She holds dual bachelor's degrees from the University of the Western Cape and a Master's in Social Work from Boise State University, while currently pursuing a Doctoral degree in Social Work at the University of Kentucky with a focus on neuroscience.

Her research and practice emphasize clinical mental health counseling, social justice, Ubuntu philosophy (an African ethical framework), and the intersection of neuroscience with social work. She teaches CMHC-601 courses and has over a decade of experience as a mental health practitioner.
Professionally, she works as a public defender in Colorado Springs and runs a private practice. She also launched a podcast, "Ubuntu ngumuntu ngabantu," reflecting her commitment to African philosophical frameworks in mental health.
