Dr. Elif Yıldızlı is a Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Münster and holds affiliations with institutions like the Kirchliche Pädagogische Hochschule Wien/Krems and FernUniversität Hagen. She earned her Ph.D. in Sociology (2022) from the University of Münster, focusing on Alevi religiosity. Her research explores translation theory, religious practices, and gender dynamics within Alevi communities. She has received the 2024 Internationaler Wissenschaftspreis for her doctoral work on Alevism.
Her academic career includes roles as a research associate and lecturer across multiple universities, alongside memberships in organizations like the German Sociological Association and the Deutsche Arbeitsgemeinschaft Vorderer Orient. Yıldızlı’s teaching spans qualitative research methods, sociology of religion, and Alevi theology. Her publications emphasize the interplay between tradition and modernity in religious practices, particularly in urban contexts.
