Elif Turan Aslan is a full-time Lecturer at the Vocational School of Fine Arts, Kafkas University, Department of Design. Since 2018, she has taught courses such as Moda Sunum Teknikleri (Fashion Presentation Techniques), Sanat Tarihi (Art History), and Giyim Süsleme Teknikleri (Clothing Decoration Techniques). Her research bridges fashion design with cultural anthropology, focusing on traditional Turkish handicrafts and their modern reinterpretations.
Her work explores the cultural communication embedded in traditional headwear of ethnic groups in Kars, Turkey, and the historical symbolism of animal figures in Turkish art and mythology. This aligns with her MSc thesis on Traditional Turkish Handicrafts and her academic output, which includes a peer-reviewed article published in 2022.
