Elif Baysal

Prof. Elif Baysal is a faculty member at Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine and currently holds the position of Professor in the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences, specializing in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Diseases. She has previously held academic roles at İnönü University (2015–2017) and Giresun University (2019–present). Her research focuses on oxidative stress in ENT pathologies, hearing loss mechanisms, and pediatric otorhinolaryngology.

• Medical Education: Ankara University (1995–2001), Gazi University (2001–2006).
• Projects: Circadian rhythm studies in sleep deprivation (2020–2022), newborn hearing screening (2009–2011).

Her work spans genetic polymorphisms in hearing disorders, radioprotective agents in irradiation, and cochlear implant outcomes. Recent articles (2021–2017) highlight her contributions to COVID-19 pathology, tinnitus management, and ENT surgical innovations. She has supervised theses on cochlear implant genetics and tinnitus masking therapy.

Scientific honors include a European Board Certificate in Otorhinolaryngology and membership in the Turkish ENT and Head and Neck Surgery Association since 2004. Her clinical experience includes a stint at Balat Hospital (2017–2019).
