معرفی
Dr. Elias Adanu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of English at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), within the College of Liberal Arts. His research focuses on cultural and visual rhetorics, non-Western rhetorics, and African Diaspora Studies, particularly examining how contemporary Africans negotiate their identity in literary, digital, and visual spaces. He explores the intersection of global perceptions of Africa—shaped by historical racism, imperialism, and colonialism—and modern African experiences.
His current book project analyzes Afropolitanism as an analytical framework for understanding cosmopolitan Africans' reimagining of their global positioning, drawing on theories of rhetorical circulation and public discourse. As an avid photographer, he also investigates how visual media like photography influences public culture and national identity.
No specific awards, grants, or advising roles are detailed in the provided information. His office is located in Hudspeth Hall 316, and he can be contacted at eadanu@utep.edu.
