Dr. Elham Mirzania is a Lecturer in the Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Toronto Metropolitan University. She holds a PhD from Peking University, an MA from Peking University, and a BA from Shahid Beheshti University. Her expertise spans Chinese language and literature, with a focus on sinology in Iran and Sino-Persian cultural relations.
Dr. Mirzania founded the Chinese Language Department at Allameh Tabatabaei University in Tehran, where she taught Chinese language, literature, and culture. She has been recognized for her scholarly contributions, including the PKU International Students Academic Award and the Special Book Award of China for Young Scholars. Her work includes co-editing the Chinese-Persian Dictionary, translating works between Chinese and Persian, and authoring books such as China Under the Pen of Persians.
Her research emphasizes cultural exchanges between China and Iran, and she has published in leading academic journals in China. Dr. Mirzania’s dedication to promoting Chinese literature globally earned her the title of “Friend of Chinese Literature” from the China Writers Association.
