Eleonora Ricci is a Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Edinburgh's School of Engineering. She obtained her PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Bologna (2020), complemented by Master's (2016) and Bachelor's (2014) degrees from the same institution. Previously, she held a Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral fellowship at Demokritos NCSR in Athens and served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bologna.
Her research focuses on multiscale modeling of polymer membranes for sustainable gas separations, employing machine learning and molecular simulations to advance materials design. Key investigations include hydrogen storage in polymers, CO2 capture technologies, and thermodynamic modeling of sorption processes.
Recent publications demonstrate strong emphasis on machine learning applications for membrane design and computational analysis of gas-polymer interactions. Research consistently bridges molecular-level simulations with industrial-scale performance predictions.
She leads projects including 'CharMPol: Characterization and Modeling of high-performance polymers' and coordinates collaborations like the ENFIELD Exchange Scheme focusing on trustworthy AI applications.
