Eleonora Leucci is an Associate Professor at KU Leuven's Department of Oncology, Faculty of Medicine. She leads the Laboratory for RNA Cancer Biology, focusing on long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in cancer development, therapy resistance, and stress responses.
- Academic Affiliation: KU Leuven, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Oncology
- Research Focus: lncRNA in cancer, mitochondrial-cytosolic translation, adaptive stress pathways
Her work explores how lncRNAs regulate nuclear-mitochondria communication, ribosome biogenesis, and immune evasion. Recent projects target the dark genome to improve immunotherapies and characterize novel immune checkpoint peptides.
Scientific Awards
- Amanda and Jonathan Eilian-MRA Young Investigator Award
She mentors PhD students including Sara Adnane, Alessandro Marino, and Yvessa Verheyden, while collaborating on grants for RNA-based cancer therapies and humanized mouse models.
