Eleni Theodorou is an Associate Professor at the School of Humanities, Social and Education Sciences, Department of Education Sciences, European University Cyprus. She holds a Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education from the University of Virginia (2008), an M.Ed. from the same institution (2005), and a B.A. with Honors in Primary Education from the University of Cyprus (2002). She has been affiliated with European University Cyprus since 2009, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor before attaining her current rank.
Her research focuses on intercultural education, curriculum development, teacher professionalism, immigrant children’s identity formation, and climate activism. Notable projects include the ESIPP parent education initiative and studies on Cyprus' curriculum reforms. She has contributed to the David A. Wilson Award-nominated family involvement study and led the BONDS project on social inclusion for immigrant families.
Awarded Fulbright and multiple University of Virginia scholarships, she serves on editorial boards and research councils, including the Cyprus Pedagogical Association’s Interculturalism SIG. Her work bridges educational policy, social justice, and youth activism, with recent outputs addressing climate change mobilization and intergenerational education.
