Eleni Gara is an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Anthropology and History, University of the Aegean. She specializes in Ottoman social history, focusing on the Balkans and Greek world during the early modern era. Her research examines interreligious relations, political participation, and institutional dynamics. She holds a PhD from the University of Vienna (2001) and has held postdoctoral fellowships at Princeton University.
