Eleni Drinea is a Senior Lecturer in both the Discipline of Computer Science and the Discipline of Industrial Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University. She serves as Director of the Master of Science in Data Science program and is an affiliated member of the Foundations of Data Science Center within the Data Science Institute. Her research focuses on theoretical computer science, including randomized algorithms, graph algorithms, information theory, big data, and network optimization.
- Education: B.S. in Computer Engineering (University of Patras), M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Computer Science (Harvard University)
Her research interests span reliable communication in wireless networks, approximation techniques, and network coding. She previously worked as a research associate at EPFL's School of Computer and Communication Sciences in Switzerland, where her work emphasized network optimization.
Awarded the Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award by Columbia Engineering Alumni Association in 2019.
