Elena Trifonova

Elena Trifonova is a faculty member at the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy (UACEG), Bulgaria, where she works in the Faculty of Architecture, Department of Drawing and Modeling. She teaches courses in Art History (1st course), Drawing I (1st course), and Modeling II (2nd year) with reception hours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:00-10:00 in Cabinet 1102.

She holds a Master's degree in Painting from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia. Her educational background is complemented by language proficiency in English (B2 level) and Italian (B1 level).

Dr. Trifonova's research focuses on art history, particularly the work of Bulgarian artist Kamen Popov. Her areas of interest include theatrical poster design, social posters, political posters, painting techniques, and visual communication. She has made significant contributions to understanding how posters function as cultural and political artifacts in Bulgarian history.

Her recent publications analyze Kamen Popov's work across different poster genres, revealing patterns in how visual communication intersects with theater, social commentary, and political messaging in Bulgarian art history. These works demonstrate a consistent focus on how graphic design serves as a medium for cultural expression and political discourse.

Her scientific achievements include several awards:

As an active member of the Union of Bulgarian Artists (UBA), Dr. Trifonova has participated in numerous exhibitions since 2016, including international exhibitions, solo exhibitions, and thematic group shows. Her artistic practice complements her academic work, creating a rich dialogue between theory and practice in visual arts education.
