Dr Elena Teodora Manea Hauskeller is a Lecturer in Applied Clinical Ethics at the University of Liverpool's School of Medicine. She specializes in bioethics, hermeneutics, existentialism, philosophy of language, and ethics of care, with a focus on medical interpreting and its sociological dimensions. She has served as an ethics expert for the European Commission since 2011 and previously held a lecturer position at the University of Exeter's Medical School (2010-2018).

Dr Manea coordinates multiple postgraduate modules including Applied Ethics for Clinical Practice (MDSC400/401), Global Bioethics (MDSC404), and Intercalating Students Placement modules. She also designed the MSc Global Healthcare Ethics and Global Medical Ethics programs.
Professional activities include serving as Faculty Research Ethics Lead and contributing to translational medicine ethics. Her work emphasizes trust in healthcare systems, emotion work in medical interpreting, and ethical implications of posthuman technologies.
