معرفی
Elena Pavelescu serves as an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of South Alabama, Mobile, AL, where she maintains an active research and teaching profile.
She earned her Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania in 2008 under the supervision of John Etnyre, establishing her academic foundation in geometric and combinatorial mathematics.
Her research centers on spatial graph theory, with significant contributions to combinatorial topology and structural graph theory. This work intersects with broader fields including knot theory, embedding problems, and non-planar graph configurations, often explored through computational and theoretical frameworks. She actively disseminates findings at premier venues like the Cumberland Conference series and Joint Mathematics Meetings.
Recent presentations include invited talks at the 34th Cumberland Conference (May 2025), 33rd Cumberland Conference (May 2024), and multiple sessions at the 2023 Joint Mathematics Meetings, where she presented specialized work on linkless embeddability and planar graph constructions. Her consistent participation in AMS sectional meetings and university seminars demonstrates ongoing scholarly engagement across the mathematical community.
