Elena Ostrovskaya is a Professor at the Department of Quantum Science & Technology, Australian National University (ANU). She earned her MSc in Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University (1994) and PhD from ANU (1999). Her research spans quantum phenomena in condensed matter systems, particularly exciton polaritons, Bose-Einstein condensation, and nonlinear wave dynamics.
Her work explores:
- Quantum coherence in polariton condensates
- Non-Hermitian exciton-polariton systems
- Light-matter interactions in semiconductor microcavities
- Topological properties of optical lattices
- Advanced laser technologies
Recent publications (2023-2025) focus on manipulating quantum states in engineered materials, with recurring themes in non-equilibrium physics, coherence phenomena, and nanoscale energy control across optical and condensed matter systems.
She leads several active projects:
- Exciton-mediated room-temperature superconductivity (2023-2026)
- Cryogenic Near-Field Imaging Facility (2023-2025)
- Tailored metasurfaces for light manipulation (2021-2026)
- Unidirectional transport in photonic condensates (2024)
- Tunable lasers for light-matter coupling (2023)
