Elena Mellado

Elena Mellado is a Research Fellow at the Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG), affiliated with the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She actively contributes to the Plant Synthetic Biology and Metabolic Engineering research program and the Regulació de proteïnes durant el desenvolupament i repostes a estrès (Protein regulation during development and stress responses) research group.

Her research spans critical areas in plant science:

• Engineering synthetic biological systems in plants
• Metabolic pathway optimization for agricultural traits
• Mechanisms of protein regulation under abiotic stress
• Developmental proteomics in plant models

Her work integrates molecular biology and systems engineering to address food security challenges through innovative crop improvement strategies.
