Professor Elena Loizidou is Professor of Law and Political Theory at Birkbeck Law School, Birkbeck, University of London. Her research bridges anarchist theory, critical legal studies, and feminist jurisprudence, with a focus on non-state forms of association.
Academic Contributions: Her book Anarchism: An Art of Living Without Law analyzes self-managed communities through historical and contemporary case studies. She convenes Criminal Law and co-teaches Law-Solidarity-Alternative Economies.
Current doctoral supervisions explore sexual labour regulation, constitutional violence, and artificial womb technologies. She serves on editorial boards of Law and Critique and leads REF initiatives at Birkbeck.
Education includes a PhD from Lancaster University (1996) on legal regulation of insanity. Volunteer work includes prison monitoring and family court magistracy.
