Elena Koslover

Elena Koslover is Associate Professor of Physics at UC San Diego, holding a PhD from Stanford University (2013). Her research develops physical models of intracellular processes in eukaryotic cells, focusing on transport mechanisms, organelle dynamics, and cellular architecture.

Research investigates how components navigate cells through diffusion, motor-driven transport, and network effects. Current projects examine endoplasmic reticulum as a distribution network, mitochondrial positioning in neurons, and motor-protein mechanics. The Koslover Group employs theoretical modeling and simulations to quantify intracellular kinetics.

Group includes graduate students and postdoctoral scholars studying organelle networks, diffusion in confined spaces, and intracellular search processes. Outreach includes directing the Young Scientists Club for elementary students.
