Elena Carrion Guerrero is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Romance Studies at Tufts University's School of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from Tufts University, a combined BA/MA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada, and a Master of Arts in Information and Communication Technologies for Language Teaching from Spain's National University of Distance Education. Her professional activities include serving as Conference Chair for the 'Second-Language Learning & Disabilities' event (2024) and presenting at the AATSP Annual Conference (2023-2024).
Her research focuses on Spanish second language acquisition, teacher education, audiovisual translation, and inclusive curriculum design. Notable works include analyzing socially conscious music in Spanish education and integrating ecology into language learning. She is a certified examiner for the Instituto Cervantes and a sworn translator of English-Spanish recognized by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Elena has extensive teaching experience, leading courses like Intermediate Spanish and Composition & Conversation across multiple semesters. She has also contributed to academic journals such as Álabe and participates in programs like Tufts' Equity and Inclusion Fellows initiative.
