Elena Bassan

Dr. Elena Bassan is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut Català d’Investigació Química (ICIQ) in Tarragona, Spain. She is part of Prof. Antoni Llobet's research group, focusing on organic photosensitizers and photoredox catalysis for energy-related applications. Previously, she completed her PhD at the University of Bologna under Prof. Paola Ceroni, followed by a postdoctoral position at the National Institute for Materials Science Technology (INSTM) in Prof. Marcella Bonchio’s group. Her work contributes to advancing artificial photosynthesis and sustainable energy materials.

Research Interests: Elena’s research bridges organic chemistry and catalysis, with a focus on designing functional materials for energy storage and conversion. Her projects integrate synthetic methodologies with mechanistic studies to optimize photocatalytic systems.

Current Affiliations: She is embedded within ICIQ’s dynamic research environment, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team including PhD students and other postdoctoral researchers under Prof. Llobet’s leadership.
