Elektra Grant

Dr Elektra Grant is a Research Fellow at the School of Biology & Environmental Science, Queensland University of Technology. With a PhD from the University of Sunshine Coast, her work bridges plant biology and environmental science through studies on tropical rainforest trees and agricultural commodities.

Her research focuses on tropical plant physiology, nutritional quality of tree nuts, and urban wildlife habitat design. Key projects include studying Fontainea picrosperma reproductive biology and optimizing Pacific nut processing methods.

Recent publications analyze genetic diversity in tropical trees, thermal processing effects on nut chemistry, and urban koala habitat engineering. Her work often addresses agricultural sustainability and ecological conservation in Pacific regions.

Dr Grant collaborates with interdisciplinary teams across ecology, food chemistry, and urban planning. She contributes to understanding plant-insect interactions and developing practical solutions for small-scale nut producers.
