Dr. Eleftheria Kardamaki is a Researcher affiliated with the Department of Prehistory and West Asia/Northeast Africa Archaeology at the Austrian Archaeological Institute (OeAI) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Her work focuses on Aegean Bronze Age studies, particularly ceramic analysis and Mycenaean workshop investigations. She has been a project staff member at OeAI since 2016, continuing her collaboration in Greek archaeological projects since 2013.
Education:
- Bachelor's/Master's in Archaeology, History, and Art History at National and Kapodistrias University of Athens (Greece)
- Doctorate in Pre- and Early History and Near Eastern Archaeology from Ruprecht-Karls-University of Heidelberg (Germany)
Research interests include regional and supraregional connections of Aegean centers, with key projects:
- Studies on the New Mycenaean Palace of Ayios Vasileios in Laconia
- Investigation of Kontopigado, a Mycenaean industrial area south of Athens
Professional history includes employment at the Greek Ephoria in Piraeus (2009–2011) and ceramic-focused research in Late Bronze Age Aegean contexts.
