Eirini Chrysanthou

Eirini Chrysanthou is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Climate and Atmosphere Research Center (CARE-C) of The Cyprus Institute, working on the ISMED-CLIM project funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions. The project focuses on innovative solutions for mitigating climate change-related health risks and enhancing health system resilience in the Mediterranean region.

Her educational background includes:

• Bachelor's degree in Life Science from the University of Poitiers, France
• Master's degree in Health Biology from the University of Angers, France
• PhD in Complex Systems in Quantitative Biomedicine from the University of Turin, Italy, funded by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (CANCERPREV project)

Eirini's research interests center on the interplay between climate change and vector-borne diseases, with a strong emphasis on biostatistics and bioinformatics for modeling complex environmental health data. Her expertise enables the analysis of large-scale datasets to understand health risks in the context of a changing climate, particularly in the Mediterranean region.

Her scientific awards include two prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Fellowships:

• For her PhD research on the discovery of sex-specific survival biomarkers in early-stage melanoma (CANCERPREV project)
• For her current postdoctoral research on climate change and health (ISMED-CLIM project)

Eirini is actively engaged in advancing the understanding of climate-health interactions through her work on the ISMED-CLIM project.
