Dr. Eirini Boukla is a Lecturer in Art and Design at the University of Leeds' School of Design, part of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Cultures. She holds a PhD in Fine Art (2013), MA in Drawing (2006), and BA in Fine Art for Design (2005). Her research focuses on materiality, drawing as an expanded practice, and intersections between art, design, and new technologies.

Her practice explores material imagination, process-oriented studio methods, and how technology redefines authorship. She teaches across undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervising projects in expanded drawing, materiality, and experimental animation. She has curated exhibitions internationally and secured research funding from AHRC, Art Council England, and private sectors.
Current supervisees include Ebtisam Alotaibi, Hannah Sabapathy, Linnan Zhang, and Wei Wang. Her work is exhibited globally in galleries, museums, and public art projects.
