Dr. Eindra Aung is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), School of Clinical Medicine, Department of Clinical Pharmacology and Toxicology. She is also a Principal Hospital Scientist (Clinical Research) at the Pain Management Research Institute/Kolling Institute under the Northern Sydney Local Health District. Her research focuses on health services research, chronic disease management (particularly gout and helminth infections), patient self-management, and health information systems. Dr. Aung has collaborated on global initiatives like the Philippines' 'Magic Glasses' health education program to combat parasitic infections in schoolchildren and studies on medication adherence in gout treatment.
Her work spans clinical trials, epidemiological studies, and health policy interventions. Notable projects include analyzing adherence to urate-lowering therapies using Australia's Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme and investigating illness perceptions in gout patients. She has also contributed to understanding the impact of comorbidities on patient care quality in diabetes management.
Dr. Aung's research integrates behavioral and clinical perspectives, emphasizing patient-centered care and health system preparedness for disasters. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges clinical pharmacology, public health, and health education.
