Professor Eilif Pedersen heads the Master Programs in Marine Technology at NTNU. His research encompasses mathematical modeling of marine machinery systems, hybrid power plants, and dynamic simulation methodologies.

He teaches courses on system dynamics, marine machinery, and mechatronics. Current research projects include SFI Smart Maritime and Virtual Prototyping of Marine Systems, involving multiple PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers.
