Eileen Yarrison serves as an Applied Instructor of Flute at the Adams School of Music and the Arts, Gordon College, a position she has held since 2008. She also teaches at the Indian Hill School of Music and maintains a private flute studio in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Her academic credentials include:
- Bachelor of Music from the University of New Hampshire
- Master of Music from The Pennsylvania State University
- Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln
With nearly three decades of expertise, Dr. Yarrison specializes in flute performance and pedagogy, emphasizing flute choir conducting and orchestral training. Her influential work includes a standing-room-only presentation at the 1996 National Flute Association convention and 15 years directing the Summer Youth Music School at UNH.
Dr. Yarrison mentors students through Gordon College's orchestra program and her private studio, fostering next-generation flutists. She has also substituted for her former professors at all three of her alma maters during sabbaticals.
She has led the Nashua Flute Choir since 1997, guiding this ensemble of professional and semi-professional musicians in world premieres, commissioned works, and acclaimed recordings such as Points of View and A Falls House Christmas, with regular performances across New England.
