معرفی
Dr. Eileen Tisdall is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Geography at the University of Stirling, specializing in palaeoenvironmental techniques to study human-environment interactions. She holds a PhD in Holocene climate change from the University of Stirling (2000), an MSc in Environmental Sciences from Trinity College Dublin (1996), and a BSc in Geology from the University of Edinburgh (1993).
Her research focuses on reconstructing Holocene and Late Glacial climate change, particularly using Chironomids as temperature proxies in Tierra del Fuego. She applies palaeoenvironmental methods to conservation issues like biodiversity and habitat changes caused by human activity and climate change. Notably, she investigates pollen and organic remains on Medieval manuscripts as novel research avenues.
She is affiliated with the Quaternary Science & Palaeo-environments group and the Centre for Environment, Heritage and Policy (CEHP). Her interdisciplinary work bridges natural sciences and humanities, addressing environmental challenges through historical and archaeological lenses.
