Eileen McGee is an Associate Professor of Practice and Cohort Coordinator for the DNP Executive and MSN Leadership programs at Simmons University's School of Nursing. She has been with the institution since 2003 and holds roles at Longwood Medical Center and South Shore Hospital as Program Director for their Nursing Administration master’s program. Her clinical expertise focuses on community health nursing, particularly healthcare for homeless populations. Dr. McGee teaches undergraduate nursing courses and advises Doctor of Nursing Practice students on capstone projects.
Education: Doctoral degree from Boston College School of Nursing, with a dissertation titled “I’m Better for Having Known You”, exploring self-transcendence through phenomenological research.
Research interests include chronic illness management, nursing faculty shortages, resilience strategies, spirituality in nursing practice, and substance abuse recovery in marginalized communities. Professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau, Massachusetts Organization of Registered Nurses, and the National League for Nursing.
