Eiki Berg is a Professor of International Relations Theory at the Johan Skytte Institute of Political Studies, University of Tartu. He has held this position since 2016 and previously served in various academic and administrative roles, including Dean of Social Sciences (2006–2009) and as a Member of the Estonian Parliament (2003–2004). His research focuses on de facto states, geopolitical conflicts, border regions, and Baltic-Russian relations. He has authored over 100 publications and led major projects like the 'De Facto States Research Unit.'
