Dr. Ehab L. Atallah is a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he has been on faculty since 2007. He currently serves as Associate Director of the Cancer Service Line at Froedtert Hospital and previously held leadership positions as Section Head of Hematological Malignancies and Hematological Malignancies Disease-Oriented Team Lead. Dr. Atallah is a member of both the Cancer Center and Center for Immunology at MCW, with clinical expertise in hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Atallah's research focuses on hematologic malignancies with particular emphasis on chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS). His work encompasses treatment-free remission strategies in CML, optimizing tyrosine kinase inhibitor therapy, studying TP53-mutated myeloid neoplasms, and developing novel treatment approaches for AML. He frequently investigates real-world treatment patterns and outcomes, with a strong interest in translating research findings into clinical practice. His recent publications demonstrate expertise in both clinical trials and observational studies, with significant contributions to national consortia including the Consortium on Myeloid Malignancies and Neoplastic Diseases (COMMAND).
Analysis of Dr. Atallah's recent publications (2023-2025) reveals a strong focus on precision medicine approaches in hematologic malignancies, with particular attention to molecularly defined subgroups such as TP53-mutated diseases. His work spans multiple therapeutic areas including novel agent development (asciminib), combination therapies (venetoclax-based regimens), and treatment discontinuation strategies. The publications demonstrate a balance between mechanistic investigations and real-world evidence studies, reflecting his commitment to both scientific advancement and practical clinical application.
