Egil Støre Blix serves as an Associate Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine, UiT The Arctic University of Norway. His research focuses on advancing precision oncology through biomarker-driven clinical decision-making, particularly in breast cancer treatment. As a member of the Translational Cancer Research Group (TCRG), he contributes to national initiatives including the IMPRESS-Norway precision medicine implementation project.
His research interests span precision oncology, biomarker validation, and cost-effectiveness analysis in cancer care. Recent work examines Prosigna testing impacts on adjuvant therapy decisions, molecular profiling in breast cancer subtypes, and cardiac toxicity prevention during adjuvant treatment. His publications demonstrate strong emphasis on translating genomic findings into clinical practice through multicenter national studies.
Analysis of his 15 most recent publications (2016-2025) reveals consistent focus on breast cancer stratification, molecular diagnostics, and implementation science within Norway's public healthcare system. Key thematic clusters include biomarker-guided treatment decisions (38% of articles), translational genomics (29%), and healthcare system integration of precision medicine (22%).
His collaborative work spans multiple Norwegian hospitals and research institutions, with frequent co-authorship on national multicenter trials including EMIT-1 and PRADA II. Current efforts focus on improving cancer care through the IMPRESS-Norway initiative, which implements comprehensive genomic profiling in routine oncology practice.
