Dr. Efpraxia Zamani is a Full Professor of Information Systems at Durham University Business School, with prior experience as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on digital inequalities, emerging technologies, and workplace IS implications. She leads projects like the EU-funded AGORA program on Metaverse research and has examined digital poverty, remote work dynamics, and healthcare ICT interventions in Malawi and the UK.
Efpraxia holds editorial roles at journals like Information Systems Journal and Information Technology for Development, and has received the AIS Sandra Slaughter Service Award (2024).
Her recent work analyzes policy narratives around digital exclusion, AI/UX design, and hybrid work models. Supervised students include Georgia Donta and Myrto Dimitriou. Key grants include £1.9M from UKRI EPSRC for Metaverse research and studies on digital inclusion in South Yorkshire.
