Dr. Edy Parsons is a Professor of History at Mount Mercy University, joining in 2005. She holds a Ph.D. in History from Iowa State University (2005), alongside an MA (2000) and BA in English and Literature (1997), also from Iowa State. Her research bridges American and East Asian History, with a focus on U.S.-China relations, China’s Belt and Road Initiative, and media’s role in shaping American fear culture. Parsons teaches courses such as Modern East Asia, U.S. Environmentalism, and Crime and Culture in America.
