Edwin Sabuhoro is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Management and the African Studies Program at Penn State University. His research focuses on sustainability, well-being, and livelihoods, with a specialization in ecotourism, integrated conservation and development, human-wildlife conflicts, and protected area planning in East Africa.
Education:
- Bachelor's in Law, National University of Rwanda
- Master's in Conservation and Tourism, University of Kent at Canterbury
- Ph.D. in Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Management, Clemson University
Research Interests: Sabuhoro's work bridges community development, biodiversity conservation, and tourism impacts in regions adjacent to the Mountain Gorilla's Virunga Transboundary Landscape (Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo). He develops programs for indigenous communities and studies human-wildlife coexistence.
