Edwin Monsell is a physician-scientist affiliated with Wayne State University's Department of Otolaryngology. With dual expertise in clinical practice and research, he has been active in otology and neurotology since 1988. His career includes leadership roles as Coordinator for Research of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, president of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology, and Chair of the Stereotactic Radiosurgery Study Group.

His clinical interests include acoustic neuroma, cochlear implants, and skull base surgery.
Recent work includes publications on tumor pathology, inner ear regeneration, and auditory neuroscience. He has received multiple honors including the Mosher Award for Excellence in Clinical Research and continuous recognition in Best Doctors since 2002.
