Edwin Jager

Edwin Jager is a Professor and Associate Dean in the College of Letters and Sciences (COLS) at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, specializing in Graphic Design. His academic roles include teaching courses such as Design I, Typography, Portfolio Review, Corporate Identity, and Advanced Illustration.

Education: MFA from the University of Iowa.

Research interests focus on interdisciplinary art forms, including book arts, printmaking, installation art, and experimental typography. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in venues like the Foster Art Gallery (PA), Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MN), and the University of California San Diego Geisel Library (CA).

Awards include the First Place/James Auer Memorial Award (2005) and Honorable Mention recognition in the ART 2004 National Juried Art Exhibit (2004).

He has organized and participated in numerous juried exhibitions, invitational shows, and collaborative projects, including the Book Implosions series and installations like Liquid into My Skin (2002).

As Associate Dean, Jager oversees academic programs within COLS while maintaining an active research and exhibition schedule. His work explores the intersection of traditional printmaking, book arts, and contemporary installation, emphasizing materiality and conceptual depth.
