Dr. Edwin Chong is a Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Department Head at Colorado State University's Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering. He holds concurrent appointments in the Department of Mathematics and has held academic roles at Purdue University. His research focuses on optimization, control systems, stochastics, networks, and signal processing. He co-authored the influential textbook An Introduction to Optimization (5th Ed., 2023) and has received prestigious awards including the NSF CAREER Award and IEEE Control Systems Society Distinguished Member Award.
