معرفی
Peter Philip Edwards is a distinguished academic in inorganic and materials chemistry, currently serving as Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Oxford since 2013. He has held leadership roles, including Head of Inorganic Chemistry at Oxford and Chair of Chemistry and Materials at the University of Birmingham. His research focuses on the metal-insulator transition, high-temperature superconductivity, and sustainable energy materials like hydrogen storage and carbon-neutral fuels.
- Education: B.Sc. (1970) and Ph.D. (1974) in Chemistry from Salford University.
Research Interests: His work bridges fundamental and applied chemistry, exploring electronic properties of metals in non-aqueous solvents, superconductivity in transition metal oxides, and nanoscale materials for energy applications. He co-founded the UK Sustainable Hydrogen Energy Consortium in 2002.
Scientific Awards: His accolades include the Hughes Medal (Royal Society), Tilden Medal (Royal Society of Chemistry), and international fellowships (Royal Society of London, American Philosophical Society). He has also received honorary doctorates and lectureships globally.
Leadership: Edwards has led major interdisciplinary research centers, such as the Interdisciplinary Research Centre in Superconductivity at Cambridge and the KACST-Oxford Centre for Petrochemical Research.
