Edward W Gregg, PhD, is a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Imperial College London's School of Public Health (part of the Faculty of Medicine). He joined Imperial in 2019 with a Royal Society Wolfson Fellowship, following a career leading the Division of Diabetes Translation at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. His research focuses on diabetes epidemiology, cardiovascular disease trends, and public health policy, emphasizing population surveillance and intervention efficacy.
Education: PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh (1996), MS in Biostatistics from Wake Forest University (1990), and BS in Mathematics from the College of William and Mary (1988).
Research Interests: Population-level diabetes surveillance, diabetes complications, lifestyle intervention impacts, and policy-driven health outcomes. He leads studies on global diabetes trends, pandemic-related healthcare disruptions, and the emergence of early-onset type 2 diabetes.
