Edward Valente

Edward Valente is Professor of Chemistry at the University of Portland, specializing in physical organic chemistry. His research investigates reaction mechanisms and structures of organic compounds, particularly focusing on ring formation dynamics in open-cyclic systems.

He mentors undergraduate research groups and emphasizes experiential learning through laboratory activities. Valente previously taught at Mississippi College for 26 years before joining UP in 2009.
