Edward King

Edward King serves as Professor of Latin American Studies within the Department of Hispanic, Portuguese and Latin American Studies at the University of Bristol, concurrently holding the administrative role of Academic Director (PGR) for the Faculty of Arts, Law and Social Sciences overseeing postgraduate research strategy and implementation.

His scholarly work critically examines the nexus of technological advancement and cultural evolution, with particular emphasis on:

• Digital culture manifestations in contemporary society
• Graphic and science fiction as cultural barometers
• Posthumanist and new materialist theoretical frameworks
• Cybercultural phenomena in global contexts
• Contemporary literary responses to technological disruption
