Edward Fieldhouse is a Professor of Social and Political Science and Director of the Cathie Marsh Institute for Social Research at the University of Manchester. He has been affiliated with the University since 1993 and has held leadership roles, including directing the Centre for Census and Survey Research (2002–2005) and founding the Institute for Social Change (2006). His research focuses on voting behavior, electoral geography, and social influences on electoral outcomes.
Education: Completed his PhD at the University of Sheffield. Professional Activities: Editor of the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties (2011–2016), and has participated in various committees and invited talks, including roles at the Economic & Social Research Council (ESRC).
