Edward S. Cooke, Jr. is the Charles F. Montgomery Professor of American Decorative Arts in the Department of the History of Art at Yale University, where he also directs the Center for the Study of American Decorative Arts and Material Culture. His office is located in Loria 654.

Cooke specializes in American material culture and decorative arts, examining craftsman-client relations in colonial North America. His research also extends to modern craft production and its historical contexts. Current work traces social lives of functional aesthetic objects across global contexts.
