Edward C. Martin is a Professor of Law and Director of Law School Technology at Cumberland School of Law, Samford University. He has been a faculty member since 1983 and is known for pioneering the integration of technology in legal education, including designing online curricula. His teaching focuses on Torts, Damages, Products Liability, Professional Responsibility, Environmental Law, and Cyberlaw.

His research interests include Law and Technology, with a focus on leveraging computers and digital tools in legal education. He has authored major legal treatises such as Premises Liability Law and Practice and Personal Injury Damages, and co-authored influential textbooks on Torts.
Dr. Martin has received the Harvey S. Jackson Award for Excellence in Teaching (2005) and is a CALI Remedies Fellow (2004). His work with CALI includes developing computer-assisted legal instruction materials and presentations on technology in legal education.
Prior to academia, he practiced law in Tennessee (1977–1981), served as a solo practitioner, and clerked for Tennessee Supreme Court Justice Joseph W. Henry.
