Edward Burney

Edward Burney, MD, FAAO, FACS is Professor of Ophthalmology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and holds multiple leadership positions including Director of the Anterior Segment Diseases and Surgery Center at UH Cleveland Medical Center and Director of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland VA Medical Center's Wade Park Campus.

Dr. Burney graduated magna cum laude from Ohio Dominican University with a double major in biology and chemistry, then earned his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1978. His specialized training includes residency in Ophthalmology at University Hospitals of Cleveland (1980-1983) and a Glaucoma Fellowship at Johns Hopkins' Wilmer Eye Institute (1985-1986).

His clinical expertise focuses on Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery, with additional specialization in Comprehensive Ophthalmology and Anterior Segment Diseases. Dr. Burney maintains an extensive practice with nearly 5,000 patient visits and 400 procedures annually across multiple University Hospitals locations in the Cleveland area.
